Our Mission: To empower whānau to access the help required to holistically support all our tamariki.
Our Vision: Every child should have access to the help they need to maximise their learning potential within the school environment, without the inhibition of finances.
Our Strategy:
1. SUPPORT
Parent Support Group – 9:15am-10:45am on the first Tuesday of the month at Te Atamira, Remarkables Park.
Navigation Service – to help whānau navigate the services available to best support neurodivergent individuals. This is accessed via a Navigation Service Enquiry form via our website (pivotalpoint.org.nz). Once the consent process is completed, a 1 hour teleconsultation appointment is given and tailored suggestions are offered along with the most appropriate services to optimise the best support for that neurodivergent individual.
2. SCREEN
Screening Programme – currently offering literacy, visual processing and auditory processing screening for our local schools. The aim is to eventually provide a Year 4 population based screening programme for schools and collate data on neurodiversity in NZ.
3. EDUCATE
Professional Learning Development (PLD) – bespoke PLD on neurodiversity offered to all local schools.
Community workshops/events – provided to increase the knowledge and understanding of neurodiversity.
4. ENABLE
Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) – work closely with a team of professionals which include Behavioural Optometrists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Educational & Clinical Psychologists, Specialist Educators and Paediatricians to ensure our community receives the most up-to-date information and best support.
Pivotal Point Pledge – a fund solely reliant on private donations from fundraising to financially support whānau access essential specialist assessments and therapies for their neurodivergent tamariki.
